NZ Post operates New Zealand’s largest postal and courier businesses. NZ Post is one of the largest SOEs in terms of revenue, assets and employees. It also has a number of related business activities, such as philatelic and international consultancy business units and an extensive network of retail outlets.

In February 2002, NZ Post launched Kiwibank Ltd, which leverages off NZ Post's existing investment in its existing infrastructure.
