How to Apply

We encourage anyone who believes they have the skills and experience to express an interest. The method for doing this is outlined below.

Registering with CCMAU

1. Send us your CV

Please contact us to send us your CV. There is no prescribed format for CVs, but please keep it to a maximum of five pages and include at least the following information:

  • full name,
  • title,
  • home and business contact details, including e-mail,
  • date of birth,
  • ethnicity,
  • strengths,
  • educational qualifications,
  • career and industry experience (with dates for each appointment),
  • any governance posts held, past and present in both a professional capacity and/or for community groups (including dates of each appointment).

When you submit your CV, you will be asked to complete a database form, which includes a declaration relating to the collection and release of your personal information. See CCMAU’s privacy policy.

2. Initial meeting

Once we receive your completed database form, we will enter your details on our director database. CCMAU’s database currently has information on over 3,000 candidates.

A representative of CCMAU, accompanied by an experienced Crown director, will endeavour to meet with you. The objective of this meeting is to discuss your particular areas of interest and expertise and to provide an initial induction into directing a Crown company. Where useful, we will also provide guidance on areas of career development that can assist you to position yourself for future appointment.
