Crown Entity CompaniesThe Crown has ownership interests in a number of commercial companies that are generally created under specific legislation that outlines their objectives, while still subject to the Crown Entities Act 2004 and the Companies Act 1993. These objectives can contain a mix of social, cultural, public policy and commercial statements, as well as public accountability requirements. The Crown entity companies that CCMAU monitors (other than the CRIs) are: Along with local councils, the Crown also has partial ownership in three airport companies that are structured as council-controlled trading organisations:
CCMAU also monitors Pacific Forum Line Ltd, a Samoan-registered company in which the Crown has a shareholding. CCMAU also monitors Research and Education Advanced Network New Zealand Ltd, a company listed on Schedule 4 of the Public Finance Act 1989 |
